And further: “However, the contribution of aluminum -containing antiperspirants for overall pollution with aluminum is significantly lower than previously assumed.” This had shown two studies from 2016 and 2019. It is still correct that the absorption of aluminum can be dangerous, especially through food. The European Food Safety Authority (European Food Safety Authority, EFSA) has communicated a maximum value of one milligram of aluminum per kilogram of body weight and per week. The fact that a higher amount of it gets into the body through a deodorant or antiperspirant has now been classified as unlikely.
Why is aluminum in the deodorant?
